We’ll show you step by step how to install a 1-for-1 air conditioner, with its split (indoor unit) and its outdoor unit. As you’ll see, installing an air conditioner isn’t complicated at all, and in just 24 steps, this guide will teach you how to install it.

Step by step to install an air conditioner:
Step 1
Once we’ve chosen the location for the indoor unit, we’ll use a metal detector to check the area for any pipes or cables we could damage when drilling.
Step 2
Next, we will place the bracket on the wall, level it, and mark the fixing points with a pencil.
Step 3
We drill the holes with the drill and a concrete bit of the same diameter as the anchors and lag screws we’ll use to secure the support; in our case, 6 mm.
Step 4
With the help of a hammer we introduce the expansion plugs.
Step 5
We replace the drill bit with the appropriate tip and secure the plate to the wall with the lag screws included in the kit.

Step 6
Now we’ll need to drill a 65 mm through hole next to the bracket to pass through the connecting tubes. We’ll mark it with a pencil, using a piece of pipe as a template.
Step 7
Using the drill fitted with an extra-long Ø 22 mm bit, we will make the hole.
Step 8
After hollowing out the circle with the drill and bit, we will finish the job with the help of a hammer and chisel.
Step 9
To more easily channel the pipes and electrical cables to the outside, we will insert a PVC pipe equivalent in length to the thickness of the wall into the hole.
Step 10
With the help of a hammer we introduce the expansion plugs.
Step 11
We replace the drill bit with the appropriate tip and secure the plate to the wall with the lag screws included in the kit.
Step 12
To install the outdoor unit, the first step is to install a channel on the facade to conceal the cables and pipes. We’ll drill some holes using a drill and a concrete bit.
Step 13
After joining the plugs with the lag screws, we insert them into the holes using a hammer.
Step 14
Then, we screw them in place using the drill driver fitted with the appropriate bit.
Step 15
To join the pipes to the external appliance, we’ll need to make some extensions. To do this, we’ll flare or widen the ends of the copper pipes using a flaring tool.
Step 16
Next, we’ll need to make a siphon in the suction tube to prevent liquid from leaking back. To do this, we’ll use a pipe bender.
Step 17
Once we’ve shaped the tube, we screw it onto the gas line, tightening the nut securely. We’ll also connect the other copper tube to the coolant line.
Step 18
After making the pipe joints, we cover them with an insulating hose to protect them from temperature changes and rain.
Step 19
We insert the electric cable and the two tubes into the gutter and put the cover on.
Step 20
Now we will make the pipe joints in the outdoor unit, screwing the nut first by hand and then tightening it firmly with the two wrenches.
Step 21
We also make the electrical connections, inserting each pole into its corresponding terminal and firmly tightening the lag bolts with the help of the electric screwdriver.
Step 22
Once the refrigerant and electrical connections are made, we bleed the pipes, that is, we empty them of air so that the coolant can circulate without any problem.
Step 23
Finally, we seal the plastic pipe with polyurethane foam to prevent leaks and check that the installation is working properly.
Step 24
Ready to use! With air conditioning installed, we’ll keep our home at the ideal temperature.
