In this announcement made on Gujarat’s Sabarmati River Front, Narendra Modi said, “India has contributed significantly to the Global Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG-6) by reducing 60% of open defecation. ‘Open defecation free India’ is a true tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary.
