ABVP (Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad or also known as Vidyarthi Parishad) is the student organization in India. It has been established to give student interest and appropriate direction to the students.

ABVP is believed to be the largest student organization in the world and has more than 3 million student members.

Objective of ABVP:

National reconstruction is the basic objective of the establishment of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. According to the Vidyarthi Parishad, student power is the nation power. The primary objective of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad is to awaken the nationalist thinking among the students for national reconstruction. It is the representative organization of the young student power of the country. Its basic concept is national reconstruction.

Organization of ABVP:

This organization of nationalist students has a nationwide membership every year. The council has units in all universities and most colleges in the country. Council is the authority of most students’ unions. The organization believes that today’s student is a citizen of tomorrow. New working committees are formed by the provincial and national conventions held every year, and year-round programs are announced. It is the only organization that believes in the concept of the academic family and for this reason, the Professor is elected to the post of President of the Council. It has four tier units. First college unit, second city unit, third province unit and fourth national unit. Now district units are also being formed in many places.

Work: Since its inception, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad has raised the questions related to student interest and national interest prominently and has led country-wide movements. Today, people associated with this organization are active in every sphere of social life and are getting their talent ironed. The Bangladeshi Council has been carrying out agitation from time to time for illegal infiltration and removal of Section 370 from Kashmir. The council had done a historic satyagraha against giving three bighas of land to Bangla country. The Vidyarthi Parishad runs the project in many states across the country. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad has the highest blood donation record in Bihar. Apart from this, Swami Vivekananda Free Education Camp is organized for poor meritorious students, who cannot go to private coaching institutes for the preparation of competitive examinations. At the national level, the organization organizes a student exchange for inter-state living every year under which students living in other states migrate to other states and get acquainted with the culture and living there.
